In the autumn 1949, Nisse and Kajsa’s String shelf won first place in Bonniers’ bookcase competition. Made of blue wall panels and pine shelves, their design beat 194 entries from around Europe, the US and even as far away as Australia. For the 75th anniversary of the String shelf, we’ve produced a limited series of 1949 shelves in the original blue wall panels and shelves in solid pine. Just like the winning design from 1949.
String® Pocket metal is sold as one complete unit containing two wire panels, height 50 cm, and three metal shelves, width 58 cm and depth 15 cm.
