This third diatomaceous earth clock was created using the "washed finish" technique, a plastering technique used to finish building walls. The"washed finish" technique involves mixing aggregates such as gravel and pebbles into a mortar containing diatomaceous earth, applying it, and then washing the surface before it hardens to expose the aggregate, creating a unique texture for the wall or floor. The combinations of base and aggregate materials, sizes, and colors are endless, allowing for a wide variety of textures.
