Essent is a wall clock that reimagines how we read time. Designed by Daisuke Kitagawa, it addresses a fundamental design challenge: most clocks display only hours (1–12), yet time operates on two systems—12-hour and 60-minute cycles. Essent uses two typefaces and two coordinated colors to distinguish hours from minutes and seconds, making time intuitive at a glance. The hour hand and numerals 1–12 share one color; the minute and second hands with 0–55 numerals share another, creating visual clarity without complexity. Crafted with precision, the dial features embossed and foil-stamped details on heavyweight paper, adding tactile depth and richness. The custom typeface balances clean aesthetics with exceptional legibility. Readable by children and adults alike, Essent complements any interior.
