D4 is a refined chair designed by Marcel Breuer and produced by the Tecta brand. Structure made of nickel-plated tubular steel. Seat and backrest upholstery in black fabric.
The German company's mission is to immortalize the designs of the greatest exponents of the Bauhaus school of art and design, for this reason, the models reproduced by Tecta are approved by the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin and bear the original signature of Oskar Schlemmer; each element made today respects the exact proportions of the originals.
The D4 folding chair is an intelligent and functional example of Marcel Breuer's designs; D4 was created to be introduced on board ships or in sports fields, constantly moving places, where an easy-to-fold, easy-to-store and easy-to-transport seat was needed. Today we find it in both private and contract settings, adding a timeless charm to the environment.
In 1980, D4 became part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
